As bespoke furniture and interior designers, we understand that pantry organisation is not just about functionality, but also about style. A well-organised pantry can elevate your kitchen while also making it easier to find and access your favourite foods and kitchen accessories. In this blog post, we share our top pantry storage tips, whether you have a pantry cupboard, open pantry shelving or a full size walk in pantry space. These tips will help you make an organised space that will help to make everyday life more convenient.

Invest in bespoke design:

High quality bespoke cabinetry and shelving allows you to maximise storage space and tailor it to your specific needs. Choose premium materials such as solid wood or high-quality finishes that complement your kitchen design. Features such as soft-close drawers and doors, adjustable shelving, and built-in lighting add both functionality and elegance to your pantry. Custom cabinetry also gives you the opportunity to add unique design elements such as oak shelving, quartz countertops, sliding door systems and engraved oak drawer boxes.

Utilise Vertical Space:

Vertical space is often overlooked in pantries, but it can be a game-changer in terms of storage. Tall units or adjustable shelves that go all the way to the ceiling will take advantage of the height of your pantry and allow you to store larger items such as bulky appliances or tall containers without wasting precious space. We love to add spice racks to the inside of pantry doors to store spices, oils and condiments, keeping those smaller items organised and within easy reach.

Organise with Style:

Functional spaces can also be beautiful, so opt for clear glass jars or canisters to store dry goods such as pasta, rice, and grains. Use wooden crates or woven baskets to group together smaller items like snacks or spices. Use lighting on the wall, ceiling or shelf lighting to make it a really functional, practical space. If you have space for a natural textile rug on the floor, this will soften the area and add warmth underfoot.

Create Zones:

Creating zones within your pantry can greatly improve its functionality. Group similar items together and designate specific areas for each category. For example, a baking zone where you store all your baking supplies, and a zone for snacks, sweets and other treats. This not only makes it easier to find what you're looking for but also helps you keep track of your inventory and prevents items from getting lost or forgotten. Use dividers or trays to keep items separated and organised within each zone.

Maintain a Regular Cleaning Schedule:

Regularly clean and declutter your pantry to keep it in top condition. Remove expired items, wipe down shelves, and vacuum or sweep the floor to keep your pantry looking pristine. A clean and well-maintained pantry not only looks great but also makes it easier to find and access your items, saving you time and effort in your daily routine.

Our designers can create clever storage space to fit in your bespoke cabinetry, in an open corner of your kitchen or a separate walk in pantry room. If you are considering a pantry space for your new kitchen, get in touch to see how we can help.
